Summary of the TV series

Kudo Shinichi (Jimmy Kudo) is a seventeen year-old high school detective whom people call the “Modern Sherlock Holmes.” However, one night after he went to a park with his childhood sweetheart, Ran (Rachel) , Shinichi (Jimmy) witnessed an illegal trade and, caught off his guard, was knocked unconscious and fed a drug that was supposed to kill him… but he woke up and found himself shrunken to a seven year-old. In order to track down the men who did this to him, Shinichi (Jimmy) hid his identity and lived with Ran (Rachel), whose father happened to be a hopeless detective, and with that came a series of murders and mysteries that he must solve. Summary of Movie

Ran has a nightmare about her mother dying, but starts to remember what really happened involving herself, her mother, and her father from 10 years ago. Meanwhile, people are being injured by a certain culprit. Conan soon realizes that these people all have some kind of relation to Mouri (Richard Moore), and that they all had a number in their name corresponding to a playing card and were being targeted in order, from the king down to the ace. As injuries become murders and as it is a race to predict who the next victims will be, Conan tries to find out the identity of the murderer, while learning about the incident from 10 years ago in the process.

Story

The Story of Detective Conan (Case Closed) Movie 2 is pretty interesting and exiting to watch, but not as exciting as the first movie.  It is still interesting to see how conan figures out the identity of the culprit.

Art/Animation

The drawing style is awesome and the animation is pretty good.  Just like the first movie, the animation can most likely be better if the movie had been done in the last couple years (it was originally aired on Apr 18, 1998), but the quality is significantly better than the animation quality of the series’s first season and that is because movies usually have a bigger budget than the TV series.

Sound/Music

The soundtrack is really cool and is similar to the first season of Detective Conan (Case Closed).  The soundtrack changes a little each season, but so far as I have seen the soundtrack of the first season and this movie are my favorite.

Character

The characters are really awesome both in character design and in their significance in the series and movies.  The characters really make you want to see more of them and more of the Detective Conan (Case Closed) movies and series.  In this movie, it is interesting to see the past of Kogorou Mouri (Richard Moore) and who he used to be.

Enjoyment

This movie was pretty awesome and really fun to watch.  I never knew what to expect and I was on the edge o my seat through most of the movie.

Islamic Factor

This movie is pretty clean and appropriate to watch for Muslims.  You can just sit down and watch this movie without having to worry about skipping forward a scene (a bad scene) or looking down or whatever else you do.  You can just relax and watch this without any worries about sexual content.  In this movie, movie 2, there was a lot of discussion about different alcoholic drinks because one of Kogorou Mouri’s ( Richard Moore’s) friends served these drinks in a restaurant.  That is the only thing I thought of that someone might find object-able.  If it bothers you that the characters would discuss this then you might not want to watch this.  This is the only movie that of Detective Conan (Case closed) that I has this discussed in it, as far as I know.  It really is not a big deal, because just cause you watch something, it doesn’t mean you agree with it.  That is my oppnion, but I did include this bit of information so that if it really does bother you, you can abstain from watching this movie.  I watched this a while ago, so I can’t say with confidence that there was no bad words, but I’m sure if there was any at all, they were not really really bad.

Overall

Overall Detective Conan The Fourteenth Target is an awesome movie and should be pretty appropriate for Muslims or any other religious individual to watch. It doesn’t have any romantic sexual scenes which is awesome! It does include usage of alcohol, so if you find that object-able, you can abstain form watching this particular movie.  Besides that, this movie is really fun to watch and see how it all comes to an end.
